Ramp from I-20 Westbound onto I-26 Westbound to close over weekend
Temporary construction closure starts Friday, April 28
Columbia, S.C. (April 26, 2023) – On I-20 Westbound near Columbia, the Exit 64B ramp onto I-26 Westbound will close starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, April 28. The ramp will reopen by 6 a.m. on Monday, May 1.
The temporary planned closure will allow contractors to perform ramp tie-in construction for the Carolina Crossroads Phase 2 project. Motorists are advised to use caution and plan accordingly in case of delays.
Detour Directions for I-20 Westbound to I-26 Westbound Closure
Closure planned for Friday, April 28 at 9 p.m. until Monday, May 1 at 6 a.m.
- Take Exit 64A onto I-26 Eastbound toward Charleston.
- Once on I-26 Eastbound, stay in the far-right lane.
- Take Exit 107B onto I-20 Eastbound toward Florence.
- Once on I-20 Eastbound, stay in the far-right lane.
- Take Exit 64B onto I-26 Westbound toward Spartanburg.
The construction is part of the Carolina Crossroads Phase 2 project in Richland County. Phase 2 will reconstruct the interchange at Broad River Road and I-20 to improve traffic. The project will also lengthen access from I-20 Westbound onto I-26 Westbound to minimize traffic congestion.
