Sumter County

Public information Meeting

Meeting :

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has rescheduled the Public Information Meeting for the proposed replacement of the S-152 (Manning Ave.) Bridge over CSX formerly SCL Railroad. This meeting has been moved to Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Central Carolina Technical College's Health Sciences Center, located at 133 S. Main St, Sumter, SC 29150.

This meeting will be an open house style format and will have displays and handouts for viewing. Citizens will have the opportunity to speak with SCDOT representatives and to provide written comments regarding the project. Additionally, SCDOT wishes to gather information from the public or any interested organization on historic or cultural resources in the area.

For those that cannot attend in person, project information, including meeting displays and handouts, will be available on the project website at https://scdotgis.online/s152overCSX.

Project Purpose:

The purpose of this project is to correct the structural deficiencies associated with the existing S-152 (Manning Ave.) Bridge over CSX formerly SCL Railroad to meet current design standards. In an effort to expedite the time frame of the project and reduce construction impacts at this site, this will require closing the bridge and detouring traffic. Proposed detour information can also be found on the project's website.

**Structurally deficient status does not mean the bridge is currently unsafe for vehicle traffic**
