SCDOT Completes Pretreating Roads In Preparation of Third Winter Storm

South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) crews completed pre-treating interstates and other major highways on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, ahead of the third winter storm forecasted in three weeks.

SCDOT crews began 24-hour storm operations Friday morning in counties where the storm will most likely have the highest impact.

SCDOT will have wreckers and SHEP trucks deployed along key interstates to help provide assistance to motorists and avoid potential lengthy backups.

SCDOT reminds drivers to monitor conditions and avoid traveling during winter weather events, as snow and ice can make conditions hazardous on our roadways.
