The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will utilize temporary lane closures and pacing operations in the southbound lane on I-77 between mile marker 22 (Killian Road) and mile marker 18 in Richland County on Thursday, May 14, 2020. The purpose is to move equipment across the interstate to facilitate the construction of the new SC 277 Northbound Bridge over I-77.
Lane closures will begin at approximately 9 p.m. and lanes will reopen by 4 a.m. the following morning, Friday, May 15, 2020. The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) will temporarily pace traffic at a controlled, reduced speed through the work zone for a maximum of 20 minutes during the lane closures.
