The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will utilize temporary lane closures and pacing operations in the southbound lane on I-77 between mile marker 22 (Killian Road) and mile marker 18 in Richland County on Monday night, March 9, 2020. The Interstate 77 Southbound on-ramp from Farrow Road (Exit 19) will also be closed. The purpose is to facilitate the construction of the new SC 277 Northbound Bridge over I-77.
Lane closures and the ramp closure will begin at approximately 8 p.m. Monday and both will reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning. The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) will temporarily pace traffic at a controlled, reduced speed through the work zone for a maximum of 20 minutes during the lane closures.
SCDOT reminds the public to use caution while driving through work zones. Motorists can use SCDOT's 511 Traveler system:

to help make travel decisions. For more information concerning this project, the public may contact SCDOT Construction Engineer, John Burns at (803) 699-5068.
