South Carolina Department of Transportation to hold Public Hearing for Berlin Myers Parkway Phase 3 on Jan. 23

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will hold a public hearing for Berlin Myers Parkway Phase 3 on Thursday, January 23, 2020.

The proposed project would be the third and final phase of the project and would complete the connection from I-26 to the southwest side of the town of Summerville. Construction of Berlin Myers Parkway Phases 1 and 2 was completed in 1995.

The purpose of this public hearing is to present the Berlin Myers Parkway Phase 3 design and findings from the Supplemental Environmental Assessment, which describes the purpose and need of the project, summarizes the alternatives analyzed and evaluates the potential impacts of the proposed project.

The Public Hearing will include an open house format with project information and display maps, and the project team will give a presentation and hold a formal verbal public comment session at 5 p.m. and again at 7 p.m.

5:00 and 7:00 p.m. (Brief project presentations followed by formal public verbal comment sessions)

The public will have 15 days following the Public Hearing to submit comments to the project team. All public comments are due by Friday, February 7, 2020.
