Contractor Prequalification

Prequalified Contractors.pdf (101Kb)

The List of Prequalified Prime Contractors contains the names, addresses, telephone, and FAX numbers of all the prequalified prime contractors in the active status for bidding on SCDOT construction projects. This list is updated monthly.

Prequalification Questionnaire.pdf (357Kb)

The S.C. Code Section R63-300 requires prime contractors to obtain a Prime Contractor's Prequalification Certificate from the Department before bidding on SCDOT construction projects. Contractors must renew their prequalification certificate annually. Failure to renew before the current certificate expires will place the contractor in an inactive status, and therefore, ineligible for bidding.

For first time or inactive applicants, the Department must receive the questionnaire at least seven (7) days in advance of the letting in which they wish to participate. To remain in an active status, the questionnaire for renewals must be received before the current prequalification certificate expires.

The SCDOT Prime Contractor Prequalification Questionnaire may be accessed by clicking on the link below. The questionnaire may be filled-out on-line or downloaded and filled-out, but then it must be printed and the Affidavit sheet signed and notarized. If required, add attachments and mail to:

Contractor Performance Evaluation Policies and Procedures

CPE_Policies_&_Procedures.pdf (300Kb)

The S.C. Code of Regulation R63-307 allows the Department to establish a system to evaluate the performance of Contractors on SCDOT construction projects. The link provided above is to a document that explains the policies and procedures of the system the Department has established for that purpose.

SCDOT Form CPE-1

SCDOT_Form_CPE-1.pdf (76Kb)

Contractors prequalifying after June 1, 2009, must submit a SCDOT Form CPE-1 along with their initial prequalification application. A new Form must be submitted with each annual renewal of prequalification.
