Several weeks ago, SCDOT and its industry partners recognized that the lower traffic volumes in the state would be beneficial to highway construction and maintenance work. Accordingly, SCDOT has allowed greater flexibility in lane closure restrictions since March 17 and on March 23 implemented COVID-19 joint workforce safety protocols with our industry partners. Many other states are now following our lead. View Workforce Safety Plan
SCDOT continues road safety functions in all 46 counties, including pothole patching, critical drainage clearing, signal operations and other critical functions to keep roads and bridges open and needed freight and supplies moving.
SCDOT's Customer Service Call Center will remain open for the public to report problems on roads and bridges as well as to ask questions. 855-GO-SCDOT (855-467-2368) toll free or 803-737-1200.
SCDOT and our partners continue work on important road and bridge construction projects in pursuit of SCDOT's 10 Year Plan to improve our roads and highways.
Supply Chain Support
It is SCDOT's priority to support the movement of freight and goods to support COVID-19 response.
SCDOT rest areas remain open, and our crews are more frequently cleaning high-touch surfaces, such as door handles and restroom surfaces.
