- [Lauren] SCDOT is offering multiple ways for you to provide input and to obtain answers to your questions about the project. SCDOT project manager Casey Lucas, will be available during the 30 day public hearing period for questions and comments about the project. If you have informal questions or comments, please call Casey or call during one of the four telephone hotline sessions to speak to members of the project team. Please note that questions or comments made by calling the hotline or by calling Casey directly will not become part of the public record and will not receive a formal written response. In addition, you are encouraged to complete a simple and interactive survey about the preferred alternative. Any comments made within the survey will not be responded to, however they will be part of the public record and used to assist the project team in further project development. SCDOT is accepting formal comments in various ways. To make a formal verbal comment, leave a recorded voicemail between 5 and 7 pm on Thursday, August 6th. To leave a verbal comment, you must preregister with Nicole Riddle at RiddleNL@scdot,org by August 4, at 5 pm. Once you register with Nicole, you'll receive further instructions on the verbal comment process. For a transcript of your verbal comments to be posted on the website, consent will be required. The reason we are only accepting verbal comments during a single two-hour period is so that the virtual public hearing will follow the format of an in-person public hearing as closely as possible. During an in-person public hearing time is allotted for speakers who have signed up in advance to speak for two minutes each and offer their opinions about the project. Formal verbal comments are not accepted other than during the hearing and are not responded to, but do become part of the public record. You may also submit written comments. Written comments can be made any time during the 30 day public comment period, and will be accepted until August 7, at 5 pm. Written comments can be submitted online using a comment form or by downloading a comment card from the website and mailing it to SCDOT project manager, Casey Lucas at 955 Park Street P.O Box 191, Columbia, South Carolina 29201-3959. You may also email your comments to the project email address at contactus@fixwoodruffroad.com. All written comments will receive a formal response from SCDOT. If you have limited access to the internet and would like to receive hard copies of the meeting materials, please contact Casey Lucas at 803-737-1087 or at contactus@fixwoodruffroad.com. Thank you for viewing the virtual public hearing, and thank you for your interest. We look forward to your comments and continued participation in this project.
