- [Instructor] Let's cover the basics of the map interface. The Google map interface is a commonly used mapping tool familiar to most people. There are a few tools here to assist you with its use. You can zoom in and out using your device touch screen or clicking the plus and minus signs in the bottom right corner. You can pan the map using your touch screen or clicking the map with your mouse and dragging accordingly. You can easily locate areas using the search location entry box at the top. Using this you can type in the name of the road. In this case, we're gonna move on to Main Street. It provides us with a dropdown list of options which is gonna be based on the current zoom level of the map, as well as what you typed into the search box. The buttons on the right side of the map bring us to the full state zoom, as well as using the option to use your device location, to pinpoint the exact spot. The button in the top left will bring us to a full screen view. Clicking the button again will bring us back to normal. And there's a button in the bottom left to toggle between the map view as well as the satellite view for your ease of locating your location. The input of a maintenance work location is done by clicking or tapping to pinpoint a location on the map display. Use your zoom in and zoom out and your pans to find the correct spot and go ahead and simply click. It will drop the pin on your location. If you need to change where this location is you can simply drag it to a new location. It will update the Road Name field or the county if necessary. If you still need to change it again you can also click and it'll move the pin for you. A general location can be used to input using the Work County and Road Name dropdown lists. If this method is used it is important to describe the location in good detail using the location of the work request field on the form.
