- [Instructor] Before we begin using the MWRO application it's important to understand this MWRO application is not for reporting an emergency situation. Please dial 911 if you have an emergency. Please only use this application when you can safely input a request. Do not try to use the application while you're driving. Now let's walk through the steps to submit a maintenance work request. An SCDOT maintenance work request requires the following information. A location of where the maintenance work is needed. Click or tap the map to input a specific location for the issue, which will automatically fill in the Work County and Road Name fields, as shown here. So we're gonna go ahead and click on Bull Street and it will populate the work county and road name. The work category selected from a pull down list, select the best category that matches your request, in this case we'll go with pothole. You're gonna describe the work request and its location in a little more detail. There are two separate required fields that will help our maintenance staff understand the nature of the request and in locating the issue. Your contact information is needed in case our maintenance staff needs additional information. This contact information is pre-populated if you've used the application previously. If you're a first time user you will need to input your contact information. You do have the ability to attach files. So if you have a photo of the issue choose the Choose File option to upload it with the request. With everything filled out let's go ahead and attach our file. So we're gonna hit our Choose File button. We're going to find our picture. We're gonna hit Open and it's gonna attach our file for when we submit it. So with everything filled out and our picture attached to our request, we are ready to submit our maintenance request. So if we go ahead and hit Submit it's gonna submit our request. If the work location is on a state-maintained road the request will be addressed by the SCDOT county maintenance office where the request is located. If the work location is not on a state-maintained road information will be provided on who to contact when you hit submit. In most cases, this will be the county or city that maintains the local road. It will be up to you to contact this organization to submit your request. When you input the work request using the map to the left, if the location is not on a state maintained road a message will appear here saying the selected road is not maintained. And then once you submit your work request it will provide contact information for who does maintain the road and will allow you the option to download a PDF of the work request that you can then forward to that correct authority. You will receive an error message if there is any missing information on your request. Fields highlighted with an asterisk next to them are noted as required, and they must be filled in to submit the request. In this case our work category is missing, so if we try to hit Submit the system notes that we must select a work category from the list. Upon successful submission of your request you will receive an email notification. You will also get another email notification when the work request has been completed.
