This scenic byway connects several US and SC routes to create a 66 mile journey through the historic and picturesque countryside of western York County.
The starting point is just 30 miles southwest of Charlotte. The Scenic Byway begins at Kings Mountain National Military Park and runs south through the historic Town of York, to Historic Brattonsville, then west through the Town of McConnells to the Bullock Creek community, where it turns northerly toward the towns of Sharon, Hickory Grove, and Smyrna. The byway features numerous historical buildings, museums, markers, and beautiful rolling countryside.
Whether you are looking for a quiet lunch in York, a visit to the pre-revolutionary community of Brattonsville, a visit to the historic W.L. Hill Store or the Museum of Western York County in Sharon, this is sure to be a memorable ride.
