The projects were ranked using objective and quantifiable factors approved by the Commission and included in the program based on the funding available. The Commission approved these projects on February 19.

Resurfacing Program
The Commission approved up to $100 million in the resurfacing category from Economic Recovery Act funds. The projects on the Pavement Improvement Stimulus list are targeted for obligation for construction within 120 days of receipt of notice of availability of Recovery Act Funds
These links provide a county by county overview of the resurfacing funding approved by the SCDOT Commission. The funding allocation is based on the percentage of federal-aid eligible primary and secondary roads in each county.

Sidewalk Program
The Commission approved a $14 million sidewalk program to address a requirement for 3% of Economic Recovery Funds to be allocated to Transportation Enhancement Activities.
Here is a link showing guidelines adopted for the program. It is anticipated these projects will be identified and brought to the Commission for final approval prior to beginning the construction process.

Interstate Maintenance Projects
The Commission on Feb. 19 approved release of up to $50 million of Economic Recovery Act funding to support the construction projects shown in the links below. These projects involve Interstate Maintenance activities. The projects were ranked in accordance with established procedures and regulations under ACT 114. The Commission also approved projects in the Interstate Maintenance category that will be accomplished under the normal federal aid program.
The projects on the Interstate Maintenance Stimulus list are targeted for obligation for construction within 120 days.

Bridge Program Projects
The Commission on Feb. 19 approved release of up to $37.5 million of Economic Recovery Act funding to support the construction of bridge projects listed in the links below. These projects involve the replacement of existing bridge structures. They were ranked in accordance with established procedures and regulations under ACT 114.
The projects on the Bridge Stimulus list are targeted for obligation for construction within 120 days of receipt of notice of availability of Recovery Act Funds.

Safety/Traffic Projects
The Commission on Feb. 19 approved the release of up to $12.5 million of Economic Recovery Act funding to support the construction of Traffic and Safety projects listed in the links below. These projects involve intersection improvements, pavement markings, signal head replacements, and other activities. The projects were prioritized in accordance with established procedures and regulations under ACT 114.
The projects on the Traffic and Safety Stimulus list are targeted for obligation for construction within 120 days of receipt of notice of availability of Recovery Act Funds.
