2008 Appropriation Earmarks/Additional US 17 Funding in Beaufort and Colleton Counties |

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is seeking comments from the public on the one new action that will amend the 2007-2012 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).
New Action: To include the fiscal year 2008 Federal Appropriation Earmarks. These Federal Earmarks were approved by Congress for specific projects in South Carolina. In the chart below, the spending limitation reflects the estimated amount of federal funds available.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is also providing as information to the public, one project extension that will amend the 2007-2012 STIP.
Extension: To include $25.0 million of federal funding identified in the Statewide Significant Corridors/Previously Identified Projects Category from fiscal year 2008. The proposed action extends the present widening contract of US 17 in Beaufort and Colleton Counties from Combahee River Bridge northerly for 1.7 miles.
