Public Comment Edisto Island National Scenic Byway located in Charleston County, South Carolina will extend existing bike lanes along the Edisto Island National Scenic Byway that starts at Edisto Beach and currently terminate at the Colleton County line. The four-foot wide lanes, located on both sides of the road will accommodate both bike and pedestrian usage allowing byway travelers to travel safely from the beach to the Botany Bay Plantation Wildlife Management Area. The new extension's first phase will start at Palmetto Road and end at the intersection of Botany Bay Road in Charleston County. FHWA has awarded $635,500 for this project.
