Air Travel
Conference Attendees traveling to Charleston by air should choose Charleston International Airport (CHS) as their destination. Charleston International boasts modern facilities, state-of-the-art operations and close proximity to downtown Charleston.
Seven major airlines provide service in the Charleston area. Travelers should contact the airline directly for reservations.
Ground Transportation
Attendees have several options for their travel from Charleston International Airport to the Francis Marion Hotel.
- Van Service will be provided courtesy of the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) on Sunday, July 27th. Service will be available between the hours of 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm. The van service will depart from the airport’s baggage claim area every 30 minutes, and will drop conference attendees at the hotel lobby.
- Shuttle Service is available at the International Airport. The local public transportation system (CARTA) is available and makes daily stops at the International Terminal near the baggage claim area.
- Taxi service is available from the Airport to the Francis Marion Hotel for approximately $26.00. This information is based on one or two passengers, at a cost of $2.15 per mile. Taxi and limousine service from the airport may be arranged through the Ground Transportation Starter located outside Baggage Claim.
- Car rental is also available through seven major car rental agencies located at the Charleston airport. Reservations can be made by contacting the rental agency directly.
Downtown Transportation
- Dash Trolley: The Charleston Area Rural Transportation Agency provides a trolley service for downtown area transportation. Rates and schedule information are available for visitors.
- City Bus: CARTA also provides a city bus service. Route information is available for visitors.
- Walking Tour: Charleston is a great city to tour by foot. Conference attendees will receive a walking map of Charleston in their registration packet.
