PALMETTO PRIDEWAYS

PalmettoPride is a non-profit organization committed to the eradication of litter and the promotion of beautification in South Carolina. It is affiliated with Keep America Beautiful. PalmettoPride partners with SCDOT to fight litter with Palmetto Prideways sponsorships of two-mile sections of Interstate. In this program, organizations and businesses provide funding for inmate labor and equipment to keep sections of interstate highway clean of litter. These sponsors are recognized on signs erected at each Palmetto Prideway section of Interstate.

In 2002, SCDOT won the Keep America Beautiful, Inc./US State Departments of Transportation 2002 Partnership Award in connection with the Palmetto Prideways program . The award recognized SCDOT’s outstanding support of "Keep South Carolina Beautiful" and the "PalmettoPride" litter eradication and beautification projects.
