The rural portion of the program is designed to allocate Transportation Enhancement Funds to as many communities as possible across the state. Funds provided for reimbursement under the program will be limited to a maximum of $200,000 for each project.
Applications are evaluated and screened once per year, and applicants are limited to only one application per year (though applications that have not been approved can be resubmitted the following year). Projects will only be approved up to the funds available for that year.
Applications for rural projects are considered separately from applications for metropolitan projects. Only governmental bodies who have legislative authority (city, county or state agency) are eligible to submit applications.
