Tolls to Increase 25 Cents on Cross Island Parkway - First Toll Increase Since 1998

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) Commission on Thursday, Sept. 20, approved a 25-cent increase in tolls on the Cross Island Parkway on Hilton Head Island.

It is the first increase since toll collections began on the parkway in 1998. The increase is needed to meet the costs of construction, operation, and maintenance.

The Cross Island Parkway cash, PALPASS, and additional axle toll rates will be increased by 25 cents effective March 31, 2008.  The new tolls would be:

Main Line Plaza 

Cash                $1.25

PALPASS       $0.75

Ramp  

Cash                $1.00

PALPASS       $0.50

Additional Axle  

$1.00
