Georgia Department of Transportation Encourages All Football Fans to Take MARTA to University of Alabama vs. Clemson University Football Kickoff Game, August 30th

Due to major lane closures scheduled on the Downtown Connector in Atlanta during Labor Day weekend, the Georgia DOT is encouraging all football fans to take MARTA rapid transit system to the Alabama vs. Clemson Kickoff Game at the Georgia Dome and pre-game festivities at Centennial Olympic Park on Saturday, August 30th

SCDOT to Study Possible HOV/HOT Lanes Beyond I-26 in the Charleston area

                Several heavily-traveled sections of Interstate highways will be analyzed

                                               

               Transportation Secretary H.B. Limehouse Jr. has announced that the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) intends to look at the possibility of HOV/HOT lanes in three additional regions of the state to see if they could be successful in reducing traffic congestion.

          South Carolina Secretary of Transportation H.B. “Buck” Limehouse Jr. and Federal Highway Administration Division (FHWA) Administrator Bob Lee signed the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the Northern I-73 Project on Wednesday, August 6, 2008.

Nighttime Lane Closures on Segment of I-526 Beginning July 28

A contractor for the South Carolina Department of Transportation will be closing one lane of traffic on a portion of I-526 in Charleston County during nighttime hours for approximately two months beginning July 28.
