Due to the high probability of snow and ice primarily in Districts 2, 3 and 4 beginning early Saturday morning ( 5-8am), preparations are being performed to respond effectively. Forecasts vary, but all are generally predicting snow along the I-85 corridor. Although the current pavement temperatures are in the 50’s upstate, we expect accumulation within a few hours of the initial snow precipitation. The Director of Maintenance Office will be staffed beginning at 11AM Saturday.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has its employees and equipment prepared for winter weather conditions forecast to begin Wednesday night, Jan. 16.
