The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has completed emergency repairs along a portion of northbound Interstate 95 in Clarendon County and traffic flow has returned to normal.

Beginning last week, crews worked around the clock and were able to complete the emergency repair work Thursday night near mile marker 100 on the I-95 bridge over Lake Marion.

The repairs were necessary after SCDOT bridge inspectors discovered superficial cracking in a span of the bridge deck.  If not repaired immediately, this condition could have required more extensive repairs, resulting in longer lane closures and further inconvenience to the motoring public.
