Lane Closure on I-95 Northbound in Clarendon County Due to Emergency Repairs of Bridge Deck

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) announces  single lane closures along a portion of northbound Interstate 95 in Clarendon County due to emergency repairs.

The emergency repair work is being done near mile marker 100 on the I-95 bridge over Lake Marion. Traffic is reduced from two lanes to one along this northbound section.

SCDOT bridge inspectors have discovered superficial cracking in a span of the bridge deck.  If not repaired immediately, this condition could require more extensive repairs, resulting in longer longer lane closures and further inconvenience to the motoring public.

Crews will be working continuously in an effort to complete the repair work by Saturday, Dec. 19, or sooner. The lane closure will be in effect, 24 hours a day, until repairs are completed.

SCDOT advises motorists to expect delays due to congestion and to avoid this section of northbound I-95 if possible.

Southbound lanes of I-95 are not affected by these repairs.
