The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) Maintenance Division plans to replace the bridge over Burgis Creek on S-46-57 (Hopewell Road), near the City of Rock Hill in York County.

As part of SCDOT’s routine Bridge Inspection Program, this bridge was rated structurally deficient.  Due to the relatively low traffic volume, and to minimize the impact to property owners in the area, the road will be closed during this replacement.  The road will be closed on Thursday, July 16, 2009.  The estimated completion is this fall.

The detour will use S-46-50 (Springdale Road), US 21 and S-46-31 (Neely Store Road).

For more information, the public may contact SCDOT District Maintenance Engineer Todd Cook at (803) 377-4155.
