South Carolina Comptroller General Richard Eckstrom presented the South Carolina Department of Transportation with a rebate check for $88,492.88.

Eckstrom presented the check Nov. 13 to SC Secretary of Transportation H.B. "Buck" Limehouse Jr. at the Comptroller General's Office in Columbia.

SCDOT was able to save this amount by using the state procurement card for routine purchases. The state procurement card allows a streamlined billing process as opposed to multiple requisitions, purchase orders and paperwork for each individual purchase.
