The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will  continue lane closures along Interstate 126 in Columbia on October 14, 15 and 16. SCDOT crews will be working to clear large amounts of debris trapped near the piers of the I-126 bridges.

Debris-clearing operations will begin by closing two westbound lanes at 7 a.m. on each of the three days, as the majority of morning rush hour traffic will be using the eastbound lanes. All westbound lanes will re-open by 3 p.m.

Two eastbound lanes will be closed for debris-clearing operations at 4 p.m.  All eastbound lanes will be open to traffic by 9 p.m.

Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling in work zones as some delays may be possible. Work is expected to conclude on October 16, 2008 barring any unforeseen circumstances.
