Carolina Spring Clean Week was held April 14 – 18, 2008.  During this week, 1,907 South Carolina Department of Transportation maintenance employees removed 434,368 pounds of litter from 2,903 miles of highway.

The annual clean-up has been a part of the SCDOT litter abatement efforts for 32 years.  It is a major component of the Agency’s enhancement efforts as it provides an opportunity for the state’s roadways to be cleaned and increases litter awareness among South Carolina’s citizens.

The Carolina Spring Clean results for individual counties are included for a reference guide.
