The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) plans to replace the bridge on Crossing Creek Road over Cedar Creek in Richland County.

Replacement is necessary because the bridge is structurally deficient. The bridge will be replaced with a new 120-foot pre-stressed concrete bridge.

The bridge will be close for approximately eight weeks beginning April 14. Pending any delays due to weather or other factors, the new bridge should be open by June 9.

Due to the relatively low traffic and to minimize the construction time, cost and impact to property owners in the area, the road will be closed and traffic detoured during construction. The detour will be SC 769 (Congaree Road) and US 76/378 (Garner’s Ferry Road).
