The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has scheduled a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday, Oct. 15, for the East-West Connector in Anderson. It is a project that has received more than $7 million in highway stimulus funds.
Staff from the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) and the National Park Service held a coordination meeting Monday, Sept. 21, to discuss possible visitor parking areas adjacent to the US 601 bridge replacement project at the Congaree National Park.
An oversize load classified as a “superload” will be transported through South Carolina beginning September 18th and may impact local traffic in the following counties: Jasper, Hampton, Allendale, Barnwell, Aiken, Edgefield, Saluda, Greenwood, Laurens, Greenville, Spartanburg and Cherokee.
On October 7, 2009, more than 120 schools and over 61,000 students, parents, educators, and neighbors in South Carolina will participate in International Walk to School Day events.
